Recently, Wilcox Furniture donated a new car to raise funds for the Good Samaritan Mission in Corpus Christi. But what exactly do they do? One of our employees visited and here is what she had to say about her experience. 

"I recently had an opportunity to tour the Good Samaritan Rescue Mission and it changed the way I viewed homeless shelters.  It was amazing how well the facility is run. This place has everything a person needs for a step up in life.

The mission helps people in all areas of their life.  The minute they walk in the door people are cared for. They have a place to get out of the elements with three meals a day. Also the Mission helps them find jobs, either at the mission or out in the community, where they learn to give back to society.

The Good Samaritan is run strictly on donations from individuals or businesses.  If anyone is interested in giving to others, I want to encourage you to help this mission stay open. Donations can be in two forms: money or personal items.  A small monetary donation can help in a big way."
